This unique guided tour is primarily for health seekers to alleviate affliction but also for those in good health, who will be equally enthralled and awed by what they encounter, witness, and experience.
Hello, I am Johannes. I have investigated the doctor spirits at many different places across Brazil for many years, on and off. To my knowledge, no one else – neither Brazilian nor foreigner – has looked into these phenomena as profoundly as I have.
I offer these tours to health seekers and others as I have seen many people benefiting from this form of treatment, including myself when my physical health was concerningly poor in my early twenties and medical doctors could not help me.
Making the doctor spirits’ treatment accessible to others thrills me and gives me goosebumps. I would not do so if I were not convinced by what it can possibly achieve. I will be your tour leader, interpreter, and seminar doyen.
Please contact me for any queries that you might have or for advice that you possibly seek.

Accommodation is included in the packaged deals.
The town where you are going to stay has a population of just over 80,000, with good infrastructure and excellent mobile internet coverage. The locals are welcoming and meeting a foreigner is an intriguing and appreciated highlight.
Two of the doctor-spirit centres that you are going to visit are located inside the town, the third one is only a couple of miles out.
Almost nobody speaks English, this includes the staff in supermarkets and restaurants. Signs, menus, labels, etc. have no English translation. None of the commonly known multi-national brands like Starbucks, McDonalds, Uber etc. is present.
It is a green town. There are a few parks and leisure areas in and near the centre to relax and unwind in the open air. The periphery is marked by unpaved roads and even more green that invite for a stroll.
Everything that one would need is nearby. Public busses run once an hour and local taxis are available and reliable, but you usually will not need them.
There are several bank branches, all of them accept the major credit cards, including MasterCard and Visa. Cash withdrawals function reliably.
The weather is categorised as humid subtropical climate, which means hot humid summers and mild to cool winters.
The hot season lasts from mid-November to mid-March, with an average daily high temperature above 83°F (28°C).
The cool season lasts from mid-May to mid-August, with an average daily high temperature below 70°F (21°C). The coolest days of the year are in mid-July, with an average temperature of 59°F (15°C), but under 48°F (9°C) can happen occasionally at night.
There are some seasonal variation in monthly rainfall but no definite rain season. Rain falls throughout the year. Showers may last up to an hour, rarely longer.
Make sure to bring appropriate clothing with you. In case that you forget or miss anything, you can buy clothes, umbrellas, etc. in the local stores.
Try to arrive in Porto Alegre (POA) on Thursday morning or afternoon.
If you do not arrive at the airport in Porto Alegre on Thursday morning or afternoon, a collection by car can be arranged which incurs an extra cost.
If you arrive earlier or stay longer, every extra night for the standard hotel is ca. US$ 35, for the premium hotel ca. US$ 70.
Examples of flight ticket costs and durations

NOTE: If you do not arrive at the airport in Porto Alegre on Thursday morning or afternoon for the group transport to the hotel, a personal collection by car can be arranged. This will incur an extra cost of roughly US$ 100 for a 105 miles’ journey (168 km). You can share this car and this cost with other late arrivers in case there are others.
We will have dinner together on Thursday evening to get to know each other and to answer all the questions you might have.
You can calculate with US$ 20 to US$ 35 per day.
You have freedom of choice. There are bakeries, cafes, restaurants, pizzerias, etc. next to either hotel. These sell delicious food and rich meals at low prices and their customer service is good. There are also supermarkets and smaller food shops.
A coffee with a pastry is ca. US$ 3. For lunch, a full meal is usually below US$ 10, including the drink. If you eat out three times a day plus having an afternoon coffee and pastry, you normally spend less than US$ 35 per day. Fresh tropic fruits and vegetables are available all year long in the nearby supermarkets. At present, the hotels provide no guest kitchen.
The average flight ticket price from the US is in the range of US$ 900 to 1200 (see flight to Brazil). If you book early, you might pay less than US$ 900.

Whenever you travel abroad, a travel insurance that covers accidental or medical emergencies is recommended. Reviews.com provides an overview of different insurance providers. If in doubt, you might consider Allianz’s travel insurance. Allianz is the world’s largest insurance company and enjoys very good customer reviews.
